The METRO consist of football and cheer associations located throughout Prince George’s and Charles counties, as well as Baltimore, in the state of Maryland and from the District of Columbia.
The METRO is governed by a Board of Directors, and Executive Officers, that have adopted AYF’s current governing rules, which subscribe to the principles of safety, sportsmanship, and full participation. The METRO also abides by the AYF rules, which include age/weight and grade-based age protected divisions, in order to participate in AYF state, regional, and national tournament competitions.
Provide a safe environment to all of athletes and help them apply life lessons from sports on and off the field; and through the education of sports, develop children of high character, who lead, persevere, overcome adversity, and function as productive team members.
Metropolitan American Youth Football was created with the vision that all young people will have the opportunity to become "Great". We take pride in the fact that our program is the end result of the vision of our Board of Directors, who, through it all, has made the determination that the youth of today are our future and we must begin to develop them as leaders of tomorrow through the art of competitive sports. The METRO is a division of the American Youth Football national program and membership allows us the opportunity to compete for State, Atlantic Region and National Football, Cheer, Dance and Step Championships.
